Each Animal Rescue Centre facility that we rehabilitate with a complete make-over is documented here. This page will be updated regularly.

As a reminder here is the goals of each project, which are as follows:

1. To include a medical veterinary clinic on-site, increasing sterilisation & vaccination facilities for the shelter and their surrounding community.

2. To provide a designated quarantine facility to reduce in-house shelter outbreaks which often lead to long term lock downs and very high vet bills, prior to animals being placed into the shelter for rehabilitation and adoption.

3. To provide self-sustainable income streams by means of veterinary clinics, guest boarding facilities and grooming parlours.

4. To significantly improve the adoption experience for those visiting the designated adoption centre, thereby increasing the adoption rate by up to 75%.

5. To improve the living and working environment for those who live and work at the shelter by means of functional offices, ablutions and accommodation.

6. To improve the volunteering experience by providing a fun and safe environment for them to enjoy their visit to the shelter.

7. To improve the staff and volunteer retention rates.

8. To ensure the shelter staff and volunteers spend their time rescuing animals and having them adopted out, rather than trying to financially keep their heads above water all the time.

9. To build career opportunities within anima rescue world.

10. To build a cost-effective animal shelters that will be able to serve their community for many years to come.

(Melkbosstrand, Western Cape)

In May 2017, Team ARRO met with the owner Gayl Basson and business partner Shireen Williams to share with them The ARRO Plan. Two teams met on site and subsequently, at various locations almost every week to build on the perfect plan for the new Fallen Angels Animal Rescue Centre.

In November 2017, the final layout plans of the project was confirmed by all parties. The Plans were given to City Planning for approval, but was declined due to the zoning regulations.

ARRO are contesting this as we do not plan to expand the operation, but rather vastly improve the current facility which has become a community driven rescue service for the community of Melkbosstrand. Team ARRO have secured award winning architects for design and a top Civil Engineering team to help build this animal rescue community centre.

The next step is to acquire the funding to build this project and we need your help to do so. Every organisation which contributes to the growth of this community should consider being part of this project, and we rely on the public to help us, to help the people and the animals of this rescue centre.

You are welcome to contact us for more information and we are happy to do a full presentation of this project should you wish to support this community cause.

apply today to become our second project
(must be based in the western cape)

Before applying, please note that each Project must adhere to the very strict criteria we have pointed out below, for our consideration:

1. The property must be owned by the organisation to be considered for make-over.

2. The organisation must be a NPO and/or PBO registered.

3. The Shelter must have a constitution.

4. The Shelter must be a registered trading entity.

5. The Shelter must have a clean tax clearance position.

6. The Shelter should have a fairly good support base and a good reputation in its local community, even if it is in dire need.
7. The Shelter must hold the same values as ARRO's values.

8. The Shelter must be operational as an animal rescue and/or a rehabilitation facility for at least 2 years.

What Organisations will not be considered (but may apply for later consideration).

Any national organisation may apply, but due to the current massive growth in the Western Cape, we will focus on this area first and spread our wings to other provinces as soon as we can.

If you rent the property that you are on, our sponsors and investors will not be able to fund the project.

If you are not a registered NPO, we are unable to raise funding for your project and cannot assist you.

If you have been trading for under two years, you are not established enough. Perhaps consider partnering with another older community shelter.

If the Owner and/or Operator has a bad credit record then the funders are unable to release funding for them.
